Stephen C. Barrera

Steve Barrera was raised in Wilson County, Texas and is one of San Antonio’s top rated criminal attorneys. After obtaining a B.A. in Philosophy at the University of Texas at San Antonio, he attended St. Mary’s Law School. Throughout his journey at graduate school, Stephen made the Dean’s List, wrote for The Scholar and St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice, and interned for United States Fifth Circuit for Judge Emilio Garza. Attorney Stephen Barrera was also awarded 1st place and Best Speaker during the St. Mary’s Law School 1L Moot Court Competition.

Stephen’s law career began at the law firm of Bracewell & Giuliani, where he worked in the firm’s trial section. In 2008, Stephen started his own practice with a focus on criminal defense. Since that time, Stephen has obtained numerous favorable outcomes for clients in cases ranging from DWI’s and Possession of a Controlled Substance to Sexual Assault and Murder and is regarded as one of the best trial lawyers in his field. In addition, he has won jury trials on cases involving murder, sexual assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a public servant, and much more.

With a passion for law and defending individuals accused of crimes, Stephen plans to help individuals all across San Antonio, Boerne, and South Texas with his knowledge and years of experience. He is currently a partner at BCP Criminal Defense Attorneys that has earned over 50 years of combined experience.
